    Matrix/Table grand totals with Measures

It would be great if Grand Totals on a Matrix or Table would add up correctly to the sum of the rows when you include MEASURES in the visual. Currently the total on a measure consists of the measure function itself, instead of the sum of the rows above. PLEASE give us the option to toggle totals to be a simple aggregate of the rows above also.

    Under Review

    Jeroen ter Heerdt (administrator)

Moving this idea to "under review" to mark that discussions are underway. For full transparency, we have started working on DAX calculations at the visual level. That feature will make changes that will serve as building blocks for other features, including but not limited to the one discussed in this idea: providing more flexibility for influencing what is shown on the total: the visual total, the "DAX" total, or another expression altogether.

Hence, the delivery of this Idea will be dependent on the DAX-calculations-on-a-visual feature.

Need Custom Totals in Table/Matrix Visuals

Hi, Here is the requirement where its not feasible in power bi table/matrix visual but which is possible in Excel

    Measure1 = Div(column1, Column2) and Measure2 = Div(column3, Column4) , Measure3 = Div(Measure1, Measure2) . Need Measure 3 output of Total as SUM instead of Division as like in Excel.

Please if you bring this functional at table/matrix visual level would be great and helps for so many projects.

Create a table from a table/matrix visual in power bi - helps with using measures to create new attributes (group by is somewhat complex)

Many a times when there are repeat values in a column and we use a measure to understand the behavior of the column values, there is a need to insert the behavior value back into the table (or new related table with distinct column values and behavior value) to provide improved analytics. The suggestion is to help insert a table / matrix visual as a data source itself. This may ease or help with less complexity on writing column values (or applying filters in calculated measures to have consistent output)

Filter by visible values in a matrix/table column

Most competing BI tools have a feature that lets you take the output of one query to use as a filter for another query. For an analyst, this is a very valuable feature. Unfortunately, Power BI does not provides this functionality, unless you're prepared to write some complicated DAX. Consider the following scenario: You have a table visual that shows you a list of customers that bought a certain product in a certain period of time. This is very easy to achieve in Power BI, by dragging the CustomerKey field and [Sales Amount] measure into a table visual, while also filtering on Product and Time (using slicers or visual/page level filters). Now imagine you want to know what other products these customers bought. Essentially, you want to add a new filter to the page, consisting of the CustomerKeys currently visible in the table visual. Once this filter is in place, we can remove the selection on our Product slicer to see all sales in the given time period, by the same group of customers. Then, if we slice by a different product, we would see only those customers that bought BOTH the initially selected product, and the product that we selected now. This would basically let us perform a Basket Analysis on our data without writing a single line of DAX code. Today, we can ctrl+click to select individual items in a table visual, and then right-click to "include" the selected items in a visual level filter. However, if you have more than just a few items, ctrl+clicking each of them is very annoying and time consuming. Also, we need a way to create the "include" filter at the page or report level, instead of only at the visual level. Ideally, we should be able to right-click on a column header in a matrix/table visual, to add a new filter at the visual, page or report level, based on all the current values in the column (even those that appear outside the currently visible scroll portion). This option should only be available when the "Show items with no data"-setting on the field is unselected (otherwise, we would be filtering ALL values of the field, which does nothing). For practical reasons, we might need to have an upper limit to the size of the filter that can be generated this way, as the generated DAX query would need to hold all the values in the filter.

    Matrix Field formatting option 'ALL'

In my report, I have multiple matrix/tables and around 20 measures in each. I need the measures values to be centre aligned. However, at the moment, the default alignment is hardcoded to the data type. So, I have to go in each matrix/table and each measure to amend the alignment. Would it be possible to have a 'All' option in the field drop-down that would allow changing the alignment for all measures in the matrix/table at once? Whilst also retaining the option of modifying individual measures separately. Thanks

Merge and Centre Repeating Measure Values as a Single Cell in Table/Matrix Visual

It would be great to have a formatting feature in matrix or table visual to merge repeating measure values as a single cell. Currently columns placed on row section can be merged in a matrix visual by adjusting the row header properties. It would be great to have similar formatting feature for measures as well (columns placed on values section).

The ability to manage "Totals" in a Table or Matrix

Currently, whenever displaying data in a table or matrix, a total is presented on the bottom that cannot be adjusted. It would be great if we could be able to manage it. Instead of summing all the values, being able to have the ability to subtract certain rows from others, finding the average of all the values in the column, and other common math functions. This would be really helpful in building financial statements such as a profit and loss. You can have revenues and expenses both in the same table and be able to display the operating profit below instead of summing the two together. This will also reduce the need for a measure.

Matrix Table measures to have an option to arrange Measures and then Columns

    Dear Team

Please note that like in Power Pivot, we also need to have an option in Matrix Table to arrange Measures first and Push the columns down under measures.

further, a visible option to remove 'Zero' columns in matrix Table view.

    Best,

Expression-based field formatting to display custom values for matrix | table visual

I would like to be able to dynamically set my row header values based on a measure or text input. Let's say for instance I have a generic measure to calculate sum of current month based on user selection. The measure name is "CM" for short. If the user selects "April 2020", the field to display in the matrix visual would be "April 2020" instead of "CM". If a user selects "March 2020", then new field display within the matrix would then be "March 2020"

Filter options for values in Matrix

Allow individual filters for each value in Matrix (or other visuals). This would allow to reduce the number of measures in the model.
