Thanks everyone for your feedback – We have just released a new Amazon Redshift connector with the Power BI Desktop July Update! This connector is currently in Preview and it allows users to Import data or create a DirectQuery report based on Amazon Redshift data. In future releases, this connector will also be supported in Power BI Service and Gateway for Refresh purposes. Stay tuned! Please take a look at the Update Announcement blog (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-feature-summary/) and to this documentation article for more details: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-connect-redshift/

Agreed! I need to access my data on Redshift.

When will it be added to the gateway? This is needed to access Redshift instances in private subnets. That's where lots of instances reside because of security purposes.

RE: Add AWS Redshift data source

In the current set up, Redshift connection does not allow to flexibly write and edit SQL made queries.
Is this something on the roadmap?
I know that there is the ODBD way, but I would consider it a hack, rather than a fully stable solution.
Without SQL flexibility, the Redshift connector capabilities are largely diminished.

It's still Beta and I don't think it's SSL https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/19337296-redshift-encrypted-data-source-support

Is there any estimation on when this will be GA? I can not push this to replace Tableau as long as it is only in Beta.

Ah this is disappointing. I would love to use PowerBI. Great product from what I've seen and the price is extremely competitive. However, without Redshift support then it's dead in the water from my POV

RE: Add AWS Redshift data source

'@Miguel Llopis any update? Because we are choosing the BI Tool, and we already use AWS Redshift... So, that's a big issue for us, because we can't refresh our data in the cloud without a Gateway!
Do you have any ETA?
Tks!
