Power BI Service: Display dataset name on Security > Row-Level Security page

This is a small thing, but it would be really helpful to have the name of the dataset you're working on displayed on the Row-Level Security page (access via My workspace > context menu for dataset > Security). I have a lot of reports to manage which have very similar RLS roles listed. Unless I'm missing something (see attached), nowhere on the Row-Level Security page is the actual name of the dataset I'm working on displayed, i.e., no way of answering the question "which dataset am I working on?!" once I'm at that page. Thanks!

Report names not showing in Power BI Windows 10 App on PC in my workspace

In my workspace in the Power BI app for Windows 10 on PC, the names of the reports are not showing up, and neither is the report icon (the little bar chart icon), although you can still open the reports. This bug is happening on multiple accounts in their own personal workspaces. I discovered that this only seems to happen when the workspace you are looking at has no dashboards, and if you add a dashboard, the names for the reports and dashboards will appear. I believe that the issue has something to do with the "Learn how to add new dashboards" option that appears if you have no dashboards. When the names are not visible, the button you press to go to the report is shorter, the same size as the "Learn how to add new dashboards" button, which makes me believe the issue is somehow related to this option. I tested adding in a blank dashboard, and this fixed the issue, but it returned again when I removed the dashboard. This is a large problem because we are planning on releasing multiple reports to employees and they should not have to waste time guessing what report they are opening.

6 versions of "Report1" with the same name in the same workspace - Duplicated names for Reports and Dataset

There's a hard to understand logic for when you will have duplicated names of reports and Datasets in the Power BI Service, but I will listed what I have discovered 1) Uploading a report with a specific name (e.g. Report1 ) doing live connections to two different datasets will generate two reports with the same name but with Different GUIs. E.G. Report1 and Report1 Report1 connects to Dataset1 and Report1 connects to Dataset2, but both have the same name. 2) And now it gets interesting. Using the Onedrive sync feature (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-connect-to-files-in-app-workspace-onedrive-for-business), you also get duplicated reports. So lets say you already have Report1 that does live connection to Dataset1 manualy publised to the workspace and then sync the same report (Report1 that does live connection to Dataset1) from onedrive (or the other way around), then you will have two different Report1. Both will do live connections to Dataset1 And remember... We already had manage to create two Report1 in step (1), and therefor we now have tree versions of Report1 Report1 (manaully published) --> Dataset1 Report1 (manaully published) --> Dataset2 Report1 (published using the onedrive sync) --> Dataset1 So now we have three different Report1. And yes, we can make this even worse. We can of cause also upload a new Dataset1 using the onedrive sync, and this way we now have two different versions of Dataset1, but with the same name. And lets say we also manually publish a report that does live connections towards that new Dataset1, then we have four version of Report1. And then don't forget the posibility to use the ondrive sync to upload the same report, then we have 5 versions of Report1. And why not also imaging that we have a Report1 with a built in dataset, then we get 6 versions of Report1. And why is this important... Besides it's very confusing to have 2 (or even 6 or more) reports with the same name, it's sometimes important to have and keep the same GUID for the report and sometimes also a dataset. Imaging we would like to set up the ondrive sync for various reasons. The onedrive sync goes quite fast, but you don't get any indications on when the file also has been published to the workspace. You could either just wait untill the file has been published or you might think you could publish manually. If you publish manually, users will not get you changes, since they are looking at a different report. You can also imaging we would like have different versions of datasets active at the same time. Lets say central BI department provides Dataset1_Generation1 and Dataset1_Generation2. Or they Provides different release-rings of the datasets: Dataset1_Latest and Dataset1_Stable. When users of the datasets changes (in a controlled way) what datasets their reports does a live connection to, they also changes the GUID of their report. The customers for the report might have choosen to embedd the report (and this operation uses the GUID), of they have just saved a bookmark to the report. We also have the sam problem when we drill through to other reports. Etc, etc... I would say that the easiest way to solve this is to always re-use the same GUID, no matther how the report is published, and no matter towards what dataset the reports does live conections (of if the report embeds the dataset).

Deployment pipelines : Allow overwrite Dataset or report with same name but differents ID

    Use Case :

i have one report manually upload in my Prod Stage and i want to overwrite it by the new version coming from Test Stage.

The report is already include in the "app"

Deployment pipeline find a difference between Test version and Prod version and by default consider report in test stage as a new report.

By deploying, the result is to have 2 reports with same names but differents ID in prod stage.

My issue come when i want to update app, everything need to be done manually to replace old report by the new one (url access to report inside the app will change also)

Idea here is to give ability in deployment pipeline when report with same name and a different ID are detected between 2 stages, have ability to overwrite based on the name the existing report.

    Regards

duplicate reports when published from desktop

Hi When I publish from desktop it should update my existing report which then updates the dashboard. At the moment it is creating an additional new report with the same name (which does not update the dashboard)? Please advise

    Report Owner Name changeable

Currently the Power BI App and the New Report information Karet display the name of the person who published the report. This is not always the same as the report owner. The report owner may be the business contact to answer business related questions associated with the report. In the current state the OWner is misleading to a report consumer. Report consumer pose business related questions to the report developer, who may be part of a technical team, thus requiring redirects to find the true report owner. Can an option exist to provide an alternate name for report owner when publishing the report app?

Language Translations for Report Names, Workspace Names and App Names

Current Power BI Portal, only converts the standard names per the browser locale. It does not translate the Workspaces, Apps and Report Names that are created/defined by the user.

We got a suggestion to create two sets of reports/workspaces/apps, but what if we need to create same reports for 10 different countries.

Request for an enhancement to enable language translations within the PBI service.

    Thank you
