Import Datamart SQL query into Power BI

Is it already planned to import the Datamart SQL Query into Power BI?

Today the query can be imported into Excel, which is a good.

As a second step, importing it into directly into Power BI would be very helpful

Datamart, make the auto generated dataset optional

we have a lot of cases where we prefer to turn off the auto generated dataset

• When Datamart is used only to share data
• When the dataset is already built using PowerBI Desktop/Tabular and Datamart is only used to store Data

The Risk is users may used the auto generated dataset, even if if it was not intended to be used that way.

Datamart Deployment Issue

I am facing issue not able to deploy a datamart from dev environment to test environment using the pipeline. Here is the error in french:

Un ou plusieurs éléments n'ont pas pu être déployés, car cela entraîne une dépendance bidirectionnelle entre les éléments.

I tried to recreate from scratch it but it is not working.

Roles in Datamart with Contain function and USERPRINCIPALNAME()

I tried to use datamart feature in Power BI but could not correctly apply the Row-Level Security because it was not possible to use two features: the USERPRINCIPALNAME() function with a Contains function.

Will this come shortly to the tool?

Power BI Datamarts need DDL / DML Support

We need the ability to create DDL and DML support in Power BI Datamarts so we can create stored procedures and views within the datamarts. This opens up endless possibilities for building and managing data within an analytics environment.

Sharing data with Apps can be easily done with stored procedures.

Consistent naming conventions, common business logic can be maintained in views.

Really, the list goes on and on.

Please enable this functionality.

Ideal it would be GUI driven for business users, but at a minimum programmatic creation works.

Make Datamarts visible (Datahub) for users that have build permission only

I noticed that when assigning build permission on datamart it is not possible to find it in Datahub, either in Power BI Desktop or in Power BI Service, although it is possible to see the linked Dataset and also be able to connect to the SQL endpoint from the SQL Server connector. However, it is necessary for the user to have the connection string to be able to get the data. I noticed that the Datamart appears in Datahub only for users who have the Contributor or Member role. Datamarts must also be visible in the Datahub for users who only have build permission on the datamart.

Enable datamart's for only select users

Currently the preview of Datamart's can be enabled or disabled for everyone only.

I'd like to be able to enable it only for select users or security groups (basically admins only) to work out how suitable it is for our business before making it more widely available (or not).

Adjustable Width for Datamart Object Explorer

The default width of the Datamart Object Explorer is insufficient for my needs. I want the object explorer to automatically adjust to the width of the table with the longest name. Alternatively, or in addition to, the width should be manually adjustable.
