We need a way to alternate colors of rows in tables and matrix. If you have a wide table with many rows, reading that data left to right can be a challenge. With alternating colors it helps track the row you are looking at. Think greenbar paper (if your old enough to know what greenbar is).

You can do this quickly using table and matrix styles or do it manually in the Values pivot. Both of these are in the formatting pane!

RE: Alternating colors on rows in tables and matrix
when I select the row in the table, the rest of the rows are greyed out. Can I disable row highlighting when a row is selected?

I found this for Table, under Visualizations, select Format icon (paint brush), Table style.
Under Style, select Alternating rows. Unsure how to change the color from the default grey.

This is possible to do via the Values (background color, alternate background color) section of the Format pane for a Table (not sure about how it works for a Matrix though the option is also there).

Also changing column labels, sub totals and totals.

I would agree this is something that is needed. It is difficult to read left to right knowing what row you are on.
