1. Allow calculated field as map legend.
Currently, calculated fields are not allowed as a legend. Due to this, the color is derived only from a single dimension attribute. By allowing a calculated field to be utilized as the legend, you could have variable colors based on the granularity of the geography hierarchy....i.e. North America = red --> drilldown to country --> US = red, Canada = blue, Mexico = Green.

2. Allow data labels to be customized.
Currently, label locations can be specified but the label is the geographic element value and cannot be customized to show the value of the metric (size).

RE: Enhance Power BI Mapping

For the sales/margin scenario, you could use the Color Saturation option instead of legend. You can also create a measure and use it in the legend if you want to have just one summarized value

RE: Enhance Power BI Mapping

Calculated field is allowed as map legend already. Could you let us know if this is still an issue?

Voting up! Additionally though, would be good to have the ability to present one legend/metric with differentiating values as different shapes or proportionate sizes. Or if I so choose, several metrics at the same time with different shapes and/or colors. Much on the lines of what I already have using any other BI tool in the market today...
