When a Power BI Report is connected to a Scorecard Metric, we see that Shared Link is generated for each bookmark.

We realize that the Report-to-Metric is being treated as a shared report.

This Shared Link by default gets a validity of 180days allotted to it.

Post this we start receiving the below error when we try to open the Report from the Metric :

"We couldn't load the sender's customized view of the report (filters, etc.) because it expired. You're viewing the report's default view."

To resolve this issue, we need to reconnect all the Reports on a Scorecard, which again gets allotted a 180day timeout.

This is not a favorable and expected functionality in case of Scorecards.

We wouldn't like to keep reconnecting all the reports at the end of 180 days each time.

Hence, we propose to have the expiry limit for the Reports connected to Scorecard Metrics Removed altogether.

RE: Scorecard Metric Report Shared Link Connection expiry

Also started suffering from this one and have a couple hundred of metrics linked to different reports, each with specific slicers. It was already a heavy journey getting it done and just learned that after 180 days I need to do this all over again?!?!?This it NOT acceptable and would expect Ms to at least restore the connectivity in the background. All too often software is released these days with inadequate testing and I can't understand this wasn't caught, especially when Ms showcases Metrics a lot with sales target data for a fiscal year. Nobody apparently has looked at data older than 180 days?

RE: Scorecard Metric Report Shared Link Connection expiry

or give us a button to manually click on to re-establish the connect (prolong the linkages). but editing each metric is painful when you have 40 on one scorecard! and with automated flows sending mails and doing things based on the current values weekly or daily, it is really bad if the connetion is lost and the metric values won't be updated any more and we don't know about it -_> so the power automate flow is doing false things, informing the wrong people and sharing simply false and outdaten information it is all working so smooth toger in Power world - it is really sad that an expired link is killing the reputation of my power automate flows and stuff so that noe one does trust it any more in my organization. really sad.

RE: Scorecard Metric Report Shared Link Connection expiry

or at the very least send an alert that allows us to confirm that the link should be renewed.
