Please allow Copy/Paste functionality from Power BI Desktop. We often need to recreate PBI reports in Excel just so we can Copy tables or charts and paste into PowerPoint or simply email it. Need stronger integration with other Office products. Copy/paste seems so basic.

Note: Our company uses PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (on SQL server) - cloud services are not an option because of Protected Health Information.

We shipped copy and pasting visuals between .pbix files in November. You can learn more about this feature here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste This is in addition to the copy data features we added in September: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-september-2018-feature-summary/#copy Note that you can get reports into PowerPoint using the export to PowerPoint feature, and if you want specific improvements make sure to vote on those ideas. If you want to copy an image to your clipboard instead of the actual visual so you can reuse it anywhere, make sure to vote on this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/11698812-copy-screenshot-of-visual-to-clipboard And you can vote on this idea for more copy data scenarios (such as whole table of data to clipboard) https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6696392

This is officially on their roadmap and we saw it demoed at the app summit yesterday, so it will be here soon:

We've been waiting for this too!

Also the summarized data export is not summarized in my opinion...it goes down to the grain of the dataset not the matrix grouping.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Hence the need to pivot again after exporting, simple copy and paste from matrix would be brilliant

Great idea! I was thinking about it, the possibility to link a PowerBI tables or charts into a PowerPoint Slide like we do with Excel would be awesome too.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

This needs fixed asap. I really hate having to export into excel and re-pivot items that are already formatted in power bi. GIANT step backwards here.

Yes, this seems like a very easy and obvious thing to do. Any update PowerBI team?

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

My employer dropped an idea to buy Power BI (500+) licenses just because of this small feature.
