Please allow Copy/Paste functionality from Power BI Desktop. We often need to recreate PBI reports in Excel just so we can Copy tables or charts and paste into PowerPoint or simply email it. Need stronger integration with other Office products. Copy/paste seems so basic.

Note: Our company uses PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (on SQL server) - cloud services are not an option because of Protected Health Information.

We shipped copy and pasting visuals between .pbix files in November. You can learn more about this feature here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste This is in addition to the copy data features we added in September: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-september-2018-feature-summary/#copy Note that you can get reports into PowerPoint using the export to PowerPoint feature, and if you want specific improvements make sure to vote on those ideas. If you want to copy an image to your clipboard instead of the actual visual so you can reuse it anywhere, make sure to vote on this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/11698812-copy-screenshot-of-visual-to-clipboard And you can vote on this idea for more copy data scenarios (such as whole table of data to clipboard) https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6696392

Would be great if copy data was included in Service as well as Desktop.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

I would like to be able to copy a tab from one report to another report within Power BI. I often need to do something similar to something I have already done and this would save a ton of time

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

I use an App in Power BI to feed student data to advisors; however, when the advisors go to 'See Records' (in the online version), they can not copy and paste the student email address to send a correspondence. Thus, they have to manually type in the address or download to data to excel.

I would like to be able to copy and paste and individual cell or a column of data (say an entire row of email addresses) from the 'See Records' screen in the Power BI App.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Are your tables for your data source not store on your SQL server? Why would you want to copy and paste anything from power BI to Excel, if you are using the Power BI Report server? All of our solutions are on Prem and we have bee successful in utilizing the Report Server and mobile, obsoleting excel in most cases.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

This is coming in the next three months (right click -> copy from matrix/tables) - it was demoed at the Business Application Summit this week, and they've said everything we say would be out by October. I'm happy to see it added as well as it feels overdue, but glad to start using it!
