Please allow Copy/Paste functionality from Power BI Desktop. We often need to recreate PBI reports in Excel just so we can Copy tables or charts and paste into PowerPoint or simply email it. Need stronger integration with other Office products. Copy/paste seems so basic.

Note: Our company uses PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (on SQL server) - cloud services are not an option because of Protected Health Information.

We shipped copy and pasting visuals between .pbix files in November. You can learn more about this feature here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste This is in addition to the copy data features we added in September: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-september-2018-feature-summary/#copy Note that you can get reports into PowerPoint using the export to PowerPoint feature, and if you want specific improvements make sure to vote on those ideas. If you want to copy an image to your clipboard instead of the actual visual so you can reuse it anywhere, make sure to vote on this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/11698812-copy-screenshot-of-visual-to-clipboard And you can vote on this idea for more copy data scenarios (such as whole table of data to clipboard) https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6696392

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Will this feature also cover copying and pasting into another .pbix file connected to the same model?

Loving the new feature to copy from table/matrix visuals. Would love it to be able to copy from other visuals, particularly Card Visuals which our users need to copy numbers/text from

And also if it could be available on the "Show Data" matrix that appears

I'd be quite happy to be able to right-click on a table entries (or multiply-selected entries) and copy cell/row as text. I often work with external command lines tools and getting basic data out of powerbi to share with these seems fundamental

Strongly need a "Copy All" option and export the visualization to excel/ power point.
As my team need it for presentation or more analysis.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Hi Amanda,

Looking forward to this update - could you give any more information as to whether it will be possible to copy an entire page from one Dashboard then paste into a different Dashboard (a copy:paste within Power BI)?
Also, would the enhancement be able to have a drag across numerous items on a page for multiple select (rather than CTRL clicking eeach element), ready to copy:paste?

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Hi Amanda,
It would be really helpful to have the "Copy All" option to be able to export to excel the matrix as it is shown on the dashboard (currently not possible).
Thanks!

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Yay. Since I noticed the update to this yesterday. I have probably already used this feature over a dozen times.
