Please allow Copy/Paste functionality from Power BI Desktop. We often need to recreate PBI reports in Excel just so we can Copy tables or charts and paste into PowerPoint or simply email it. Need stronger integration with other Office products. Copy/paste seems so basic.

Note: Our company uses PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (on SQL server) - cloud services are not an option because of Protected Health Information.

We shipped copy and pasting visuals between .pbix files in November. You can learn more about this feature here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste This is in addition to the copy data features we added in September: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-september-2018-feature-summary/#copy Note that you can get reports into PowerPoint using the export to PowerPoint feature, and if you want specific improvements make sure to vote on those ideas. If you want to copy an image to your clipboard instead of the actual visual so you can reuse it anywhere, make sure to vote on this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/11698812-copy-screenshot-of-visual-to-clipboard And you can vote on this idea for more copy data scenarios (such as whole table of data to clipboard) https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6696392

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

What would be even better would be if you could paste link from Power BI Service to other applications in the same way that you can paste link from Excel to other applications. We use this functionality in Excel in every report.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Especially an easy way to export tables with data. No to the visuals people still would like to have a set of data behind them. Exporting into a csv file is not how it should be ...

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

I like that we can now copy cell and row level data. Now, I would love to be able to copy column level data. For example, this is needed in order to select all the email addresses of the population I'm trying to reach.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Hi, we really like what you have added and are looking forward to more. But we have noticed that there are some oddities with how the Copy selection works.

What we see is a matrix often unpivots the table (rows become columns and visa versa) and not give the info as displayed. Also its hard to figure out how to select the entire table, and copy as is.

RE: Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

Tableau has the copy image and data functions which is a great help in creating reports in word or excel formats. I hope Power BI can follow and offer this functionality
