It would be great to have filters and slices be optional on the new visual tooltips that are in preview. So for example I could show one days data on the report but be able to hover to see the last weeks worth, but still have other filters or slices apply.

RE: Slicers and filters optional on custom tooltips

Agree this is still needed - I would like to be able to create tooltips that can give both specific information and overall information on the same info. For example, I have a chart that shows our companies proposals and wins, and I would like the tooltip to show "We have won x% of $x in category X". To do this I need the category filter to work, but I need it to ignore the page level detail regarding submissions vs wins.

This is a desperately needed feature, currently the report page tooltips are almost entirely incompatible with slicers.

RE: Slicers and filters optional on custom tooltips

This is still a valid suggestion. The ask is that certain filters be applied and others not, which would ignore the auto-selection filter that occurs when hovering. For example. I have a rolling count of hourly figures on my main visualization for the current day. I have a calculated field using 'All' to remove any filters for my tooltip. I would like the tooltip to show the current day's rolling hourly figure against daily figures at that hour from previous days. If I turn off 'Keep All Filters' from the tooltip, I only get the rolled up daily value of the current day. If I turn them on, then the filter for both Day and Hour automatically apply and override my custom DAX 'All' tooltip and shows only the current day and current hour count (none rolling). To pick and choose which filters are ignored would prevent this as there is currently no built in method and DAX gets overridden.

True, you can disable the Keep all filters option in the tooltip page

I've just voted for this, then found that you can do it with the Tooltip filters option by picking the filters you want from your main page to affect the tooltip page - suggest this improvement be closed as complete
