When using a Hierarchy in the "Details" section of a chart you gain the ability to drill up and down that hierarchy. I would like to be able to place the same hierarchy in the "Legend" section of the chart so that my legend will update based on the level of the hierarchy I have drilled to.

Dang! This was open in 2016 and it is still open. Microsoft needs to catch up with other BI tools.

Definitely would be useful and this lack of functionality has come up several different times in reporting

That would be indeed interesting for line charts, to be able to match the selection made in slicers in case it's using a hierarchy.

Completely agree, we have a table with over 1 billion rows and the only work around I've found involved cross joining the names of the columns in the hierarchy to the table in question. Since we have 4 different columns we'd like to be able to switch between in the legend, this is currently quadrupling the size of this table.
