I'd like to be able to group gateways together based locally defined criteria; and then be able to sort those gateways within the group either by alpha order or date of creation or whatever I choose. I have full ability to sort my bank accounts; why not DMGs :) ?

Very good idea. I have a bunch of Gateways, should be good to filter/order them better. It's hard to find out some when need to check.

RE: Greater Control of Gateway Cluster List

Yes, please arrange for the Gateway Clusters to be sorted as it is difficult to find a gateway

Here's another scenario: The primary gateway may not be the most powerful machine in the cluster, so it would make sense to assign a different machine as the primary.

Using an Azure Logic App we currently verify data gateway availability before processing Analysis Services models. After moving to a high-availability gateway cluster, we want to check the availability of the cluster, not only the primary node. A REST API to manage the cluster would be very helpful.

RE: Greater Control of Gateway Cluster List

According to document: "The Power BI service always uses the primary gateway in the cluster, unless it’s not available. In that case, the service switches to the next gateway in the cluster, and so on." We're hoping to have option to assign Primary gateway, then if service switches to other gateway, it can change back to primary gateway after service working well. The reason is some DB are restricted for specific IP connection within firewall setting, and our secondary gateway is float IP configuration, which will not access to DB data source.
