It would be nice when you build a dataset and you just go after a table in a database without writing SQL to be able to filter the data down before bringing it back to Power Query. This would allow smaller sets of data to come back from the source first instead of bringing everything back and then having to filter things out. A good example would be a transaction table where I would only want to pull the last few years of data not the data from all time.

RE: Filter data in table before bringing into Power Query
This would be great to have when query Analysis services as well. It's a limiting feature not to be able to filter out data before pulling it into the report.
The only way to do that today is writing MDX and that's not really an analyst/end user responsibility.
