SSRS is a mature platform with Microsoft. It'd be simpler and straightforward from the user's perspective to unify the solutions to render SSRS reports and Power BI on a single platform.
I mean a single "Report Manager"-like website that hosts and executes both Power BI and SSRS reports.

Power BI Report Server is now generally available (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/report-server/) and gives you exactly this -- one modern web portal where business users can go to access both Power BI reports and SQL Server Reporting Services reports. And from an administrator's perspective, it's one server to deploy and manage; you can even migrate a report server database from an existing Reporting Services report server.
