    SAP BusinessObjects BI Universe

    All of the current Ideas that mention SAP BusinessObjects BI Universe integration are marked as completed as this feature was offered pre June/July release. This is nearly a critical requirement for adoption in my organization.

    I had previously heard that this was removed due to licencing restrictions, can we get an official response on that? Is there any possibility of this being re-integrated?

    Unfortunately, the Business Objects connector was removed due to a number of reasons.

    Table option is grayed out while importing the data using SAP BW OLEDB connection. what is the alternate ?

    We would like to see this update and connectivity for UNX sorted out at the earliest .!
    This is very important as many of our providers from SAP follow UNX

    We like to hear an official response and future roadmap for this from the Microsoft Power BI team. This will help to decide what route customers need to take. Not sure why they have not come out and responded after so many comments.

    SAP won't do this gentle gift to his concurrent Microsoft...

    I'm pretty sure we won't ever have the right to use such a connector

    I don't think it's a technical gap to implement this connection capability as we are all aware this was already there in 2014: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-connectivity-to-sap-businessobjects-bi-now-generally-available/.

    The SAP BW Server and HANA connectors are not equivalent to the connector for BO universes. The published universes are kept in managed SAP BO repository instead. The use of repository is regarded as standard practice for most organizations who adopted SAP BO BI. And it will be a HUGE effort to rebuild these universes into either Azure Analysis Services or on-premises SSAS cubes.

    Please make it available (again). It is a win-win.

    This connector will help a lot of clients starting think about PowerBI with the familiarity of SAP BO Universes! We all know has fast this can go!

    70% of the customers not happy removing BI universe connection, this could potentially losing customers for SAP. May someone in management realize this?
