Can't publish Import-only report once opened with Composite models turned on

I'm getting the message:

"Publishing is disabled:
This file can't be published to the Power BI service yet because it includes the following preview features: Composite models"

When all my queries are Import--this report is also already published.

I think I opened it with the Composite models preview feature enabled and it some how thinks the queries are DirectQuery.

Maybe this is related to known bug of new queries always being DirectQuery when Composite models are enabled.

If I turn off Composite models and attempt to open my Import-only report, I get the message:

"Unable to open document
In order to open this file, the following preview features must be enabled: Composite Models"

I'm going to try this workaround and recreate all my queries: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/DirectQuery-errors-on-imported-tables-July-2018-Composite-Models/idc-p/472098/highlight/true#M29413

Although I didn't create any new queries, I did create many-to-many relationships--so maybe that activated this DirectQuery bug.

Yes, once I switched from many-to-many back to one-to-many, I was able to publish again. So it must be many-to-many enhancement a part of Composite models.
