This is a great feature that is not yet functional for Power BI Embedded customers.

As an ISV serving many clients, our clients would find this to be a very useful feature on the embedded analytics we provide.

It will be crucial to be able to detect a cross-report drillthrough so that when reports are embedded into a web application, the cross-report drill through event can be identified and managed from a security perspective. I.e. Validate a user's permission and prevent a user from navigating to a report they are not entitled to view.

Right now, many clients also have Power BI within their organization and they are able to use this feature. We would like to provide the same features they are used to.

Functionality gaps of this kind make ISV services less desirable and it is a difficult conversation to have with clients when you need to explain why you can not provide the same features they are used to or see on the various learning/informational Power BI platforms.

RE: Enable Cross-Report Drillthrough on Power BI Embedded

This functionality is critical to scalability when multiple reports can benefit from the same detail data. As of now, we are forced to recreate the same detail level data in each report which is redundant and time consuming. There are many scenarios where we'd like the detail level reports to be the same experience regardless of the parent report. This functionality would help to ensure that certain drill paths have a consistent user experience. Thanks for you consideration

RE: Enable Cross-Report Drillthrough on Power BI Embedded

Having Cross-Report Drillthroughs in Power BI Embedded is a functionality I need ASAP...

Our customers do not, and often cannot, access their Power BI Reports directly through the service. Limiting cross-report drillthroughs dramatically reduces the value of the Power BI Reports I am making.

I end up making 5-6 disconnected reports - each with multiple pages, with no workflow between them. This forces users to simply try and remember where they were at in the previous report, greatly reducing the effectiveness of our overall web-based application.

I cannot stress enough how much value that this feature would provide our company.
