Please introduce a global setting to Prevent Teams from creating PowerBi App Workspace automatically when creating a new Team. As the new Workspaces are detached from Teams/Groups this should be a setting to prevent the App Workspaces beeing clotted with empty Workspaces from all our Teams.

Agree, this is a horrible idea. Every team doesn't need a workspace that will never be used and just confuses and clutters up PBI.

I deleted what I thought was an old empty workspace and it deleted the files in Teams, without any warning.

This came as quite a surprise when we saw our first team appeared as a workspace on Power BI ! Very much needed feature to disable or prevent automatic creation of workspaces in Power BI

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

I have tested this with "Create workspaces (new workspace experience) enabled for a subset of the organisation" such that only a specified security group(s) can create app workspaces.

However the Teams integration with Power BI bypasses this rule and creates V1 App Workspaces anyway.

Same issue here and agree with Kieeran Steel's point below. It bypasses the governance structure we have in constraining the creation of workspaces, by letting classic ones pop up with admin and non-admin members.

This is currently causing issues for an enterprise Power BI roll-out to hundreds users in my workplace. We want to have control over what workspaces are created, and what access users have to those workspaces in order to enforce data governance.

Microsoft, can you add these votes to https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/19432663-hide-non-power-bi-workspaces-from-left-menu - as it is the same problem but with 2 ideas which make them have less votes.

"Clotted"...good word. "Crapped up," I'd use. Another MS "Ribbon" decision.

Teams is clunky, broken garbage adopted by clueless but ruthless C-suite turds and configured as no-delete/no-correct/always-recording corporate spyware.

Teams is the childish AOL portal to your carefully crafted Power BI reports, framing them in an ugly, unavoidable one-inch border, full-screen zoom disabled.

With no other way to organize data extra workspaces clutter organization.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

Is there any feedback from Microsoft on this issue? Also, I think someone mentioned that if you delete the workspace in PBI, it would delete the team in MS Teams. That's not the case. I just deleted a workspace and the team is still there in MS Teams. It is definitely annoying to have to go through that process every time a team is added in Teams.
