Spellcheck is automatically turned on for text boxes, but can't be dismissed

When adding a text box to a report, spellcheck automatically analyzes the contents and highlights words not in it's dictionary with the familiar red squiggle. There is no way to dismiss this squiggle, meaning that the highlighting is always present. There is no way to disable spellcheck via options either.

LOL almost 8 years and counting. Doesn't have AI in the title so doesn't get resources.

Please People in Redmond, do not think that all language is in ENG. Comments are very useful, please remove the red lines if it is not in ENG.....

Is there seriously no way to turn this off? It is of no help, I don't even understand why some words have a line under it, as they are perfectly common words.

This appears to still be an issue. When I right click on a "misspelled" word, the only options are group and summarize, but neither is pertinent. I would expect to see at least a basic replacement word / ignore option when right clicking a word that isn't in the dictionary

I use a text box for writing my comments in Czech. This leads to the whole content of the textbox being underlined in red :(.

It's an absolute joke, as is forced American English, which I'm sick to death of requesting with all Microsoft products. Honestly if an AI can write you a paper in the style of the King James Bible it really shouldn't be that hard to develop a sensible spell checker with a dictionary...at least give us a disable on/off button Microsoft!
