The timeline slicer (Custom Visualization) functions, but it is not a friendly tool. If I quickly want to select a "Start" and "End" date for a date range, it would be more helpful to have a popup calendar with an optional freeform text box for both the "Start" and "End" date ranges.

This slicer would be great it is sized better into a smaller form and also if the Y, Q, M, D, etc.. selector at top left stayed on screen at all times and did not require having to scroll back.

I am not atall happy with the current timeline slicer. Time being a major factor for analysis its really sad how the current timeline works.
It just takes up lot of space and looks quite ordinary as compared to the other components.

Also it would be interesting to have such fuctionality not only in report slicers, but also in query date parameters.

The timeline slicer is a pretty neat feature. I really like how it works. Now, my problem is that it's clunky, taking up too much space and not resizing properly.

I would like to suggest that the timeline slicer (or any other calendar control that might be in development) support custom fields defined for custom calendar periods. For example, I believe the current options only allow for Year, Quarter, Month, and Day. If you have fields in your date table defining custom periods (ex. Period 1 - 2016, Period 2 - 2016, or whatever), it would be useful to be able to add those to the timeline slicer and remove the options you don't need.

Yes! Please add today, month, tomorrow, and options for "rolling time frames" today - 7, etc. Excel has tooday, now, etc. Power BI should be able to as well. Love the product. Keep the updates coming!

The filter box should allow for some sort of Date () or Now () functions as well that we can work with.
