    Offline "Edit Query"/"Power Query Editor" functionality for offsite development

    Offline "Edit Query"/"Power Query Editor" functionality for offsite data modelling.
    When working offsite, at home, at another office where VPN isn't an option, etc. it would be great to be able to continue back end development such as transformations, add columns, changing data types, naming etc.

    Power Query in Excel can work offline, I dont know why Power Query in Power BI cannot do the same.

    I would like to use this ideea in a similar problem - when reloading data for each edit will take a lot of time, so I would like to work "disconnected" from the source for a period of time in development phase.
