Forecasting currently requires setting a specific forecast length. This is great, but not very helpful for dashboards that seek to forecast through the end of the month, quarter, year, etc. You have to manually update the forecast length each day.

It would be great to have the ability to set a specific date or time period for the forecast. For example, Forecast Through [12/31/2016]. This would make forecasts much more useful on dashboards.

I cannot use the forecast tool now because I would have to go in and update the number of periods every day. This needs to be dynamic based on a variable set point.

Just found this idea, I also with that the "forecast length" in line charts could be dynamicly changed.

For instance, I have an application that I want that the forecast is done until end of the year based on monthly data.

The current workaround is to manually update the forecast length once per month so that it doesn't forecast months from coming year....

I think that we should be able to dynamic set the number of forecast points. This would be nice and my customer already asked for this! Voted!
