would be great if the reference line would compute averages and dynamically change, ala tableau and microstrategy..

With the August release of Power BI Desktop, we added a new analytics pane that contains lots of dynamic reference line options for you to add to your visuals. To learn more about how it works, check out our latest blog post about the August release. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-august-feature-summary/

RE: dynamic reference lines
Great to hear that dynamic reference lines will finally be available!
RE: dynamic reference lines
Should be like SSRS where you can add multiple as well; à la strip lines of which an expression can be used.
RE: dynamic reference lines
Very much required, may be integrated with KPI
RE: dynamic reference lines
Multiple colored lines would be great. This allows us to show help desk expected response time for high, medium and low cases on the same chart. Now I only can show one reference line.
RE: dynamic reference lines
Fantastic, Nick! This would be immensely useful!
RE: dynamic reference lines
How does this only have 29 votes? This is needed for any kind of dynamic dashboard that allows user changes.
RE: dynamic reference lines
Yes, please!
RE: dynamic reference lines
Yes please. I've been banging my head against the wall to try and do this!
RE: dynamic reference lines
Yes, multiple reference line who get data from measure.
And possibility to set as average, Median, count of rows, distinct count of rows,....
RE: dynamic reference lines
I'd like to be able to add multiple reference lines. And make them either fixed (eg: 80% & 20%) or variable (eg: each driven by a measure, say 1 Std Dev above & 1 Std Dev below)
This would permit me to show things like :-
1. An Acceptable range. Anything too high or low is bad.
2. A typical range. where Std Dev would highlight outliers.
3. A set of Good, better, best lines. eg: sales targets often have a minimum acceptable value where you qualify for a performance bonus, The sales target, an accelerator when you get a bonus for exceeding your target. & maybe an extreme accelerator target.
Would also be great if I could use the reference line to control color.
either:-
A. The background color above the line was different to that below the line. eg: It could be light red & the normal background was white.
(for examples look at a stochastics chart in share trading. Often the background above 80 & below 20 are colored to show they are extreme values)
B. When a value exceeds the reference the bar or line changes color. (We can kinda do some of that today, but only one value)
