Make the publish to web feature available to be used for private sites so that confidential information can also be shown.
And please make the authentication method as flexible as possible

Today I’m very excited to announce the availability of the Power BI report web part for SharePoint Online! We’ve heard from you that you wanted an easy way to securely share Power BI reports in internal sites, enforce security permission, including data security. We’ve been busy at work with the SharePoint team building an out-of-the-box web part for SharePoint Online using their new Modern Pages infrastructure. The new web part we are releasing today enables SharePoint authors to embed Power BI reports directly in SharePoint Online pages with no code required! The feature is available today for Office 365 First Release customers. Truely, this is the 'private' publish to web. You can read more about it on the Power BI Blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/integrate-power-bi-reports-in-sharepoint-online/ I know from reading many of the comments below that there are other cases in which people want to embed in external portals that enforce authentication, or on billboards that update data frequently. We have a great solution you can build on in Power BI Embedded, an Azure service you can use to build these kinds of experiences. You can read about it here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/power-bi-embedded/ We really appreciate all the feedback and ideas. Please tell us what else you'd like to see us add to Power BI. -Lukasz

RE: private publish to web

In my company we have digital displays which we want to display internal information from dashboards we have generated Power BI. It is against our company policy to publish sensitive information to the online public. Are you developing a private publish to web?

For example on Vimeo, you can make a video accessible with a private link, in my mind this is the same principle?

Thanks, Harry

'I think its really bad practice not to answer the complaints on the solution. I have more and more reverted back to Excel, not what I wanted...
TO bad if an excellent tool doesnt support displaying your reports whithout having to license all possible viewers.

@Lukasz Pawlowski, you should really put some time into answering people here!!

Please allow the community to view dashboards and reports without having to purchase the pro licence for an org unit of 2500+. The ROI is simply not there and without this feature and the competition would win our long term business.

RE: private publish to web

Here I am highly disappointed on the fact that the users on SharePoint online need to purchase a Pro license just in order to view the reports. I am a developer whose creating various visuals but MS is restricting and over charging which is restricting the power to share which other BI tools are promoting.

Need your help MS to go ahead with the beauty :)

Thanks

RE: private publish to web

I've been playing around with Excel/Power Query/Power Pivot reports and dashboards, and no Power BI. The product looks phenomenal, but we have both normal and high security networks and there's to many obstacles to publishing the content. There's no clear path to publishing Power BI dashboards on a secure LAN and the indication here is that you need a Power BI pro license to view content on SharePoint. Come on MS, you can't have your cake and eat it. If you are licensing Office and SharePoint using O365, how can you justify separate licensing for view only content developed using the O365 suite? You're shooting yourselves in the foot again. So frustrating that I can develop a great looking visual in Power BI Desktop and then encounter so many obstacles to sharing that content with the desired audience.

As Thomas asks, respond to the critics, else it looks like you have a muddled direction for a product with excellent potential.
