Currently, slicers are mostly multiple selection type.

It would be great if you can add a feature that will allow the end user to select the NEXT or the Previous value.
For example, if we use a country slicer which is currently set to United Kingdom, by clicking 'NEXT' the slicer would move to Uruguay (assuming the values are by alphabetical order)

I agree that this would be really helpful. We have lists of Laboratory Parameter as a category to go through one by one. Next/Previous buttons for dropdown slicer would be really nice to support the business workflow.

RE: Select Next or Previous value in a slicer

Hello!I want to reduce the number of actions for the user when they change the selected item in a slicer. This applies to both the drop-down mode and the tiled and list mode, but only in the single selection mode. The slicer must be controlled additionaly with buttons "Prev" and "Next". When the user click to the "Next" button, the slicer selects the next item. When the user click to the "Prev" button, the slicer selects the previous item.If the current item is the last item in the list, the slicer must be select the first item. This buttons can be a parts of the slicer or separate visuals (that is better). There is a good idea to improve slicers functionality. Thanks!

RE: Select Next or Previous value in a slicer

Implement button functionality that, when triggered, goes to the next or previous value within a slicer, depending on if the user wants a "Next" or "Previous" button. This helps when one slicer contains hundreds of options, is in "dropdown" format, with multi-select allowed... I want to retain all of that functionality but sometimes users just want to navigate to the "next" option available vs. having to drop the slicer down, deselect their current option, and select the next option in the available list.

RE: Select Next or Previous value in a slicer

In some of my reports, users may need to work through each item on a slicer in turn. The slicer will contain values that do not mean anything to the user as they are system generated IDs. Instead, I would like to offer users some buttons to move between records which control a hidden slicer. Given the nature of the data, it is not practical to achieve this using bookmarks. In the Action of a button, a new Type would be added "Slicer". This would enable the selection of a specific slicer, and then a sub-action.The sub-actions should include "Select First", "Select Previous", "Select Next", "Select Last", "Enable" and "Disable". It would be helpful if the slicer remembered its position if disabled then enabled. Enable and Disable could work by toggling Select All, but when activated the actions make more sense if single select is enabled, which would mean Select All would not be available, and activating Select All may make the slicer lose its place. It would be useful if the buttons could provide visual feedback based on the slicer being enabled/already on first record, etc. but not essential. This could possibly work by automatically disabling the previous/next type buttons if the slicer is disabled, and adding in an extra state to the Style group "Default/To Same Record".
