Once we publish a report to the web 'using Publish to Web', we cannot track the basic web traffic measures (visits, duration on site etc). The Audit log works well for internal users but it's important to track external views of our reports (e.g. Public Earnings traffic volume, customer interest in our published news articles etc.)

Here's an example where we're using PBI for an elite MATH audience that only PBI can achieve

Per our PBI user forum, here's the response I got from the team:

"Except audit log , I can't think of other solution. Usage metrics don't track dashboards and reports embedded via the “user owns credentials” or “app owns credentials” flow. Usage metrics also don't track usage of reports embedded via publish to web."

If this idea is accepted and resolved, I think you'll see very wide adoption of web development using this powerful PBI platform.

RE: Traffic measurement for "publish-to-web' websites

It would be very important to be able to have information, how many visits a PBI visualisation published to web earns. Tableau have this feature for the visualisations published to their cloud, and this little feature can be crucial in decision making wheather to use PBI or Tableau.Visalisation tools are used also for example to deliver Survey results for public audience in clever and interactive way, but without "view-count" it is impossible to get an idea of the level of interest towards the visualisation or its public impact.
