Allow to define a structure (weights and hierarchy) of a scorecard based on the measures/KPIs in the data sources being queried, and visualize the scorecard on the dashboard

RE: Proper Scorecarding

I would welcome such a feature as working with a large set of measures with targets and multiple comparisons is not straightforward, especially once you start looking at different comparison values for monthly/annual data. I'd suggest that we'd need a way to bring numerator/denominator data into this - create a formula similar to the current quick measures and units - so we've a mix of percentages and other units such as calendar days/working days as our measures in local government are a right mix. Would also help if it ensures that we calculate the measure correctly into months/qtr/yrs/ytd depending on the filter used - which is possible but a little bit fiddly to currently implement. A Scorecard would also need to bring in data seamlessly from different datasets.

RE: Proper Scorecarding

Have a look at Datazen KPI Groups and Sub-KPIs (unfortunately this functionality is missing in SSRS mobile reports). It allowed you to group KPIs together and, more important, to build a hierarchy by defining one or more sub-KPIs to a KPI. Each KPI and each Sub-KPI has an individual calculation and visualization. Check out page 56 (Managing KPIs) of the Datazen documentation: https://ricardolacerda.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/datazen-end-user-documentation.pdf

RE: Proper Scorecarding

We are implementing balanced Scorecard (Kaplan & Norton), and want to put this in Power BI so people do not have to go somewhere else to get the balanced scorecard progress. Having the ability to put this into Power BI would be a great help.

RE: Proper Scorecarding

I think there are a few other ideas suggesting various scorecard functionality. In particular I'm looking for this: A repeating container for visuals would unlock some amazing opportunities to extend visuals. In Tableau, I can create a scorecard by adding a bar, sparkline and KPI indicator to a repeating table. I can also do this in SSRS by placing visual report items in a table or matrix but I can't do this in Power BI.

RE: Proper Scorecarding

Would love to have a template/sample for an IT Balanced Scorecard on PBI with an Azure SQL DB as the source.

RE: Proper Scorecarding

We are replacing performancepoint/powerview scorecard/dashboards with powerbi. Please implement a scorecard type dashboard for us to actually be able to phase out performancepoint.

RE: Proper Scorecarding

It's more than appreciated, the balanced Scorecard AS PPS is really needed :)
Thank you in advance Microsoft !

RE: Proper Scorecarding

If PPS is going away, we need a solution (SSRS or PowerBI) to take over from those features like Analytical Reports/Dashboards. PowerBI should be the place for all KPI dashboarding.
