OneDrive refresh in the Power BI Service is a fantastic method for storing and updating files in an organized fashion. It's become my default storage and update process for Power BI. However sometimes files in the OneDrive get moved around or renamed. While the refresh keeps working despite these changes, it becomes harder to know which .pbix file in OneDrive the dataset in the Power BI Service connects to, especially if I renamed the dataset in the Power BI Service. It would be fantastic to select the dataset in Power BI Service and be able to see the filpath or storage location in OneDrive. Then I can clearly determine which file to overwrite to publish my updates.

This would be a useful feature, but I have posted an idea that builds on this to allow modification of the file that the data set is connected to here:https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=8270c5c6-8766-ed11-a76e-281878bd0b04

Really need this. The connection to One Drive/Sharepoint for pbix and reports is great but there's not clear traceability. it can cause confusion where, for example, you cannot be sure whether a dataset or report in the online service is synced with one drive or was published using the "Publish" functionality in Power Bi Desktop.

Not just datasets, but also reports built on Shared Datasets, certified datasets. This is really a prerequisite for composite reports over power bi and azure analysis services. How do you know where the report is? How do you know if it's up-to-date according to last changes? how do you fix it if it's not refreshing???!!!

RE: Show filepath for OneDrive refresh datasets

This is a very good suggestion , On testing the One drive refresh I found that a user has the ability to rename both the .pbix file in one drive and the dataset and report on the service. They both keep syncing which is good. But you lose visibility of what's synced with what file. I wonder if View related in the service could be enhanced to show this ?
