Creating a live connection to SSAS MD or Tabular is working just fine. However, it would be very beneficial to have the ability to create new calculated measures (in MDX). Just like we can create our own calculated measures when writing an MDX query for a SSRS dataset.

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to announce that you can now create calculated measures on top of a live SSAS connection! The measures are stored in your report definition and sent along with the queries to your model. This is a must-have feature. Increase the power of Power BI by adding this capability...please!

We Were Planning to Use POwer BI as a Reporting tool for Our Field Sales Team over an Already Builded SSAS Model in our Organization....
We realized that the user can not create Measures and Columns; which is a must have for Large Organizations... This tool is on Halt because of this.
Do you Guys have a Deadline / Target Date for this?

I can't move a large number of reports from Excel to Power BI without this feature. Please!

First step: Calculated Measures on top of a live query connection. Next step add mashup capabilities with other data sources and streams. This would be a killer feature. Of course security is complex, but you will make it! Cross fingers.

I want to create a New Table in a report where the data is connected via a SQL Server Database using Direct Query.
Is this covered in this suggestion?

This is a very critical feature for Enterprises. I see this as well as a road blocker to convincing power BI with in organization
