Creating a live connection to SSAS MD or Tabular is working just fine. However, it would be very beneficial to have the ability to create new calculated measures (in MDX). Just like we can create our own calculated measures when writing an MDX query for a SSRS dataset.

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to announce that you can now create calculated measures on top of a live SSAS connection! The measures are stored in your report definition and sent along with the queries to your model. We're doing a shoot out between Deski and PowerBI, without this feature, we're not able to use PowerBI.

This was basic functionality in Proclarity, can't believe this is not available!

This limitation is a total road block right now for our goal of moving to Power BI with our SSAS customers.

From my perspective the most important feature that must be added immediatly. We have a lot of users that are interested to build their Dashboards with Power BI on top of SSAS cubes and thez would like to be able to define their own calculations. Right now this painpoint limits the usage of PowerBI in our organization.

This would be very useful. I would be able to use Power BI more often if it had this feature.

When is this must have feature coming to power BI? Custom calculation on top of the SSAS cubes are must have for prototyping as well as realizing Self Service BI.
Please bring this feature early!
