Make the publish to web feature available to be used for private sites so that confidential information can also be shown.
And please make the authentication method as flexible as possible

Today I’m very excited to announce the availability of the Power BI report web part for SharePoint Online! We’ve heard from you that you wanted an easy way to securely share Power BI reports in internal sites, enforce security permission, including data security. We’ve been busy at work with the SharePoint team building an out-of-the-box web part for SharePoint Online using their new Modern Pages infrastructure. The new web part we are releasing today enables SharePoint authors to embed Power BI reports directly in SharePoint Online pages with no code required! The feature is available today for Office 365 First Release customers. Truely, this is the 'private' publish to web. You can read more about it on the Power BI Blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/integrate-power-bi-reports-in-sharepoint-online/ I know from reading many of the comments below that there are other cases in which people want to embed in external portals that enforce authentication, or on billboards that update data frequently. We have a great solution you can build on in Power BI Embedded, an Azure service you can use to build these kinds of experiences. You can read about it here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/power-bi-embedded/ We really appreciate all the feedback and ideas. Please tell us what else you'd like to see us add to Power BI. -Lukasz

RE: private publish to web

Oracle DB Connectivity On-Prem (=Enterprise Gateway), Single SignOn from On Prem website (Not Embedded Power BI but Private Publish to Web needed).

We definitely need embedding capability without having user to login again to see the Power BI dashboard. We are fine to pay to map per user to per Power BI account if even that is permitted.

Embedded Power BI Azure Service is very restrictive on Live data sources it supports and features offered.

For me, I think that just an private link to put the dashboard in an iframe is sufficient

RE: private publish to web

Power BI is a great tool, its allows us as an organisation to quickly visualise processing KPIs from Stream Analytics for internal use. However , should we want to embed similar metrics in a product for customer consumption its currently price prohibitive and technically more challenging.

I have a similar problem as Paulo, some departments are interested in use PowerBi, but we need to integrate it in their app, so they can use it to take good decisions.

However, powerbi embedded it's so difficult we cannot use it and, furthermore, we need to be able to publish team reports...

RE: private publish to web

As a company delivering services to many different clients, we have of course users both within as well as outside of our domain. This is what we really need. Not a literal "Private publish to web".

We need to integrate users outside of our AD and also implement role- and row level security.

RE: private publish to web

I work for a large UK department store and I have management very interested in PowerBI. Unfortunately they won't touch it unless we can either host it within our intranet or in Google Docs, which we use internally for document storage. We don't have Sharepoint so the ability to privately host there wouldn't be any use to us.

RE: private publish to web

I need to be able to embed Power BI reports into CRM. I know this is currently possible, but it relies on PUBLIC publish to web. For my clients (even my organization), this is not acceptable. We will only publish our dashboards to web for use in CRM when we can be sure it has the same level of authentication as powerbi.com and CRM (e.g. users should not have to authenticate twice). Please follow up with questions. This issue is a TOP priority for us, and is currently holding up adoption for at least one client.

RE: private publish to web

As a College we do not want the Student and faculty information in the cloud. We use the information internally at different levels. We would like to publish to our server, and not embed the data. If we could create in power BI and publish like we do in Datazen. We like having the control of the Datazen server, but greatly prefer the PowerBI interface over Datazen. And the cost plays a big part in publishing on prim and not to your cloud.
