It would be nice if there is an option to have a scheduled export of a report to PDF. A nice to have feature would be to directly e-mail it to people so they are being notified of the latest report.

In addition to the support we have for paginated reports already, we have started the work to support this for Power BI reports and expect it to land by the end of the calendar year in the Power BI service.  Like for paginated reports, it will be a Premium feature and will be available to customers with either Premium capacity or if you have the new Premium per user license, which will be available at no cost to all users during the public preview period.  You can read more about getting priority access to the public preview for your tenant at this link - https://powerbi.microsoft.com/blog/priority-access-sign-up-for-power-bi-premium-per-user-public-preview-now-available/

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

As Carlos was asking? "Is there any timeline for this feature on Power BI Developer (Embedded)"? Or is it already included since it is part of the service?

Thanks

If it's going to work like the export to PPTX feature, does that mean it will ignore any slicer or filter selections and only export the report as saved? If so, this will be a rather useless feature as you could just export to pptx and save as PDF in the current version of the service. Export to PDF should really include any slicer selections so that users can get to the data view that they need, export, and then share with non service using users.

I agree with Mat Grisham's post. If it's not going to allow you to apply filters and export without saving the report like PPTX requires, it's not going to be useful. That issue is a huge road block in being able to successfully implement this product as a self-serve option for reporting.

Tableau has the ability to do this through TABCMD, I'm surprised Power BI hasn't come up with a solution yet.

'We may use functionality like subscription but applied to a visual (with all active filters/slicers) & not to the whole page of a report.
+ option to export in xls/csv

But clearly something great to have.
