Hi Justin .We’re definitely planning to allow this soon! Stay tuned and you should see it appear in the coming weeks!
Thanks for the suggestion! We want to add the ability to control whether totals are visible or not in the future.
Hi – we’re going to add more formatting options, but for now if you set the formatting of the field on the Modelling tab, it should be reflected in the report visuals
Thank you all for the feedback since our last update. We’re working on building a new navigation experience to allow authors to customize a folder-like structure for all the contents within Power BI Apps. Stay tuned!
The relative date slicer (a Preview feature as of June ‘17) gets us close to this with the ’This Month’ or ‘This Year’ settings. That is a dynamic date selection that updates based on the current system date. We plan to add a ‘YTD’/‘MTD’ option to specifically select a range from the start of the month/year up to today, hopefully that’ll address the remaining requirements!
This month we added the ability to format text fields based off a numeric field: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#conditionalFormatting
We also are planning on adding a feature that will let you format your text based on comparisons. I’ll update this idea based on our progress on that feature.
Thanks for all the feedback on this! We are definitely planning on adding Incremental refresh to Pro. Do know though that it is a fair amount of work, so it may be a bit before we can give you a more firm timeline.
In the meantime, keep voting so you’re notified when we do have more information to share!
We’re working on this one! We’re aware of it and really see it as a bug rather than a new feature. Please stay tuned and you’ll see it in a future release. Thanks!
We’re doing several improvements to the overall manageability, collaborative authoring, and organization of dashboards/reports. Having a pre-release test environment is a key component of the forward roadmap.
With the June Desktop update, we now support updating your chart fonts to any of the fonts we currently support for textboxes. Learn more in our blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-june-feature-summary/#fonts
We will be working on allowing you to use your custom installed fonts as well in a future release.
We’re pleased to announce that in the May release of Power BI Desktop you can now define incremental refresh policies for your models.
At present these only apply once the model is published to a Premium workspace in the Power BI service; we’ll be bringing it to all Pro users in the future.
You can read more about it in our blog here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#incrementalRefresh
We’re going to leave this idea open for now, so please give us your feedback while we’re in this preview phase!
Thanks for all the feedback! We’ll consider this feature for a future release but no timelines to share just yet.

From the comments and scenarios everyone’s describing, the problem is really that you need a way to allow end-users to change which measure is displayed in a visual on the fly.
As a few folks have mentioned, the FORMAT function might help in the interim, as long as you’re showing the results in text rather than a chart. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/format-function-dax has details on how to use that.
The expression-based formatting feature that we’ve started work on may help to a certain extent, but that’s really designed to change a visual’s properties rather than the data type or format. We’ll look into extending that work to support this scenario as well.
We’re moving this to Backlog status – our core plan is to build ways that end-users can change the dimensions or measures that are visible in a chart on the fly. They’ll be able to explore much more freely rather than relying on the author to have set up complex expressions to control what’s available. We’ll update with more details as they’re available.
