In a DirectQuery model the concatenation strategy slows down performance tremendously because you're joining on string instead of integers. Please add this. thank you.

This idea could've been worded a little bit simpler, but yes, requiring access to the entire dataset in order to export data that the dataset owner has placed in a visual for the user to see is beyond poorly thought out.

Looks like the new workspace experience will solve for this with the concept on "Contact List" The new contact list feature, available in workspace settings or under advanced when creating a workspace, allows you to specify which users receive notification about issues occurring in the workspace. By default, any user or group with the Admin role in the workspace is notified, but you can customize the list. Just be aware that users or groups listed in the contact list will be shown in UI experiences in the future to help users get help related to the workspace. This feature is especially useful if you want to track through a group alias issues occurring in various workspaces so you can work with the workspace Admins to address users’ needs in a timely manner.

Yes, there are too many factors with connectivity between Azure through the Gateway and then to the On-Premise Data Source to expect things to work 100% of the time. An ability to put "Number of retries" option in the Scheduled Refresh screen would go a long way to compensate for all the moving parts that can fail refreshes.

We have intermittent failures that can be attributed to network issues, issues we can't see, and db availability issues (table being locked etc.). All of them are solved by simply trying the refresh again. This is a simple addition that can go a long way in increasing the stability of the Scheduled Refreshes.

Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.

So we have documented a migration plan from our current analytics tool to Power BI and I would say for at least 50% of them (we have over 100 dashboards and 1000s of reports being distributed to 1000s of users) this "export matrices while keeping formatting (ie excel export)" is a show stopper. I know as visualization people we want all users in the business to consume the visuals in the report and not have to export, but most of us are data analyst and/or people in IT and we do not get to go to end users and tell them they can't export a matrix/pivot table that keeps the same look and feel. It's not a thing. Most of us are providing a service. And these people want to play with their matrix tables in excel.
