Getting this a Pro feature would absolutely help us adopt this more areas that currently use Cognos and other "paginated" type tools. We already have a heavy footprint of Pro, so requiring it in Premium has been a blocker in some areas.

We really need this, as well as ability to set the theme in the MSI for Power BI Desktop so that our users are all starting with the correct brand colors and fonts.

This feature looks awesome, however, it is useless in our enterprise deployment as it is not available to the Power BI Service Administators. Tenant admins do not support gateways, the Power BI team does in our deployment. We also 100% need the personal gateway to be visible in this environment. We have no visibility to installed personal gateways, which is a very bad thing.

Agree these items would add a lot of value to gateway management in particular for enterprise customers. We over 15 gateways and counting with over 200 data sources. Each time we go to add a datasource the time to get to the add data source screen is about 3 minutes on a good day.

No need to run through a check of all datasources when the user hits the screen every time (ties to item 1 above). Its quite painful in fact. There already is a test connections button on the screen. Let the user decide when to test them.

Some other items I would add to this item is to monitor from a gateway perspective:
    1) datasets refreshing with a personal gateway. Why? The need is to reach out to those users and migrate them to the enterprise data gateway as there is no way to stop them from using a personal gateway.

    2) datasets with the associated reports refreshing on a a gateway. Why? The need is to reach out to users in case of a migration needed. We currently have that issue and are struggling proactively identifying what datasets are refreshing there.

    3) Connections setup with no refreshes in the last X days, maybe 30-60. This should include the connection info, gateway and access
list, with number of days since last successful refresh, count of refreshes successful, count of refreshes failed.

I also ask that admins have a way to look into any dataset across the organization to see the connection status on any given gateway. We can see this on a workspace we are a edit member/admin of, but cannot on those we are not an edit member/admin of. We need a way to easily see this information to identify which connection is at issue when a user cannot setup a schedule. We currently have to ask the user to add us to the workspace and take over their schedule in order to see this information. Great add to be able to then see all connections and their status on the gateway. Just would like to see a way for an admin to do this without the steps to add to a workspace and take over a schedule.

We’re pleased to announce that in the May release of Power BI Desktop you can now define incremental refresh policies for your models.

At present these only apply once the model is published to a Premium workspace in the Power BI service; we’ll be bringing it to all Pro users in the future.

You can read more about it in our blog here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#incrementalRefresh

We’re going to leave this idea open for now, so please give us your feedback while we’re in this preview phase!
