I'm stunned this hasn't been fixed years ago.

I can copy in a query from Power BI Desktop, but typically the whole point is to use the Combine Binaries functionality that generates parameters and a generated function - that doesnt seem to be supported in Dataflows.

This is an common Connector in Power BI Desktop. Not having it available limits the scenarios where Dataflows can be used.

By far the most common Function pattern is one generated by building a query on a folder of files. This generates a web of dependent objects including an automatically coded function. It doesnt seem possible to move this to Dataflows, which is really disappointing.

With the current licensing, I expect Paginated reports / SSRS will slowly drop out of use and become mostly irrelevant, as only a few very large organisations will use it. Smaller orgs will want SaaS solutions, where that component is not offered. Skills and understanding of the tool will decay and competitors will flourish.

Microsoft are likely falling for the "sunk cost fallacy" - Paginated reports / SSRS has already been built and is a very evolved product, with easy integration to "core" Power BI. Adding it to Pro (or some new intermediate license tier) would immediately fill many functionality gaps in Power BI, increasing the speed of uptake and migration from legacy and competitor solutions into Power BI.

Another useful feature would be to be able to make some of the column pairs do an "Exact Match" while other column pairs use a "fuzzy match". For example "Exact Match" on ISO Country Code, then "fuzzy match" on Company Name/Address etc.

Office 365 tenant admins typically have no knowledge of or interest in Power BI.

FWIW my current workarounds are in Power Query, either using Transform / UPPERCASE from the UI or Text.Upper ( ) in code.

I also struck data recently with non-printing characters at the end: e.g. "ABC" vs "ABC(Tab)". These are counted as different/distinct values in Power Query, but automagically trimmed to a single value in the data model/DAX. My workaround was to Replace Values in Power Query to remove them.

This is a definite issue, but it made me think of a broader issue - the lack of control over whether PBI is doing case-sensitive/insensitive comparisons. So I made a new Issue for that: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/17235656-case-sensitive-insensitive-option
