I thought the previous name: "Content packs" worked well - short (without being meaningless), descriptive. The problem was it wasnt precise enough as there are internal/enterprise "Content Packs" which worked completely differently from External/Vendor "Content Packs". So how about "Enterprise Content Pack" as the new name?
A common requirement. Easy to do in Excel, Tableau, SSRS, many other tools.
Clearly not a duplicate.
This is a good idea, but needs to also support using Measures not just Columns. That would meet more sophisticated scenarios e.g. Colouring to follow a KPI vs Goal rule.
I would also like to see the ability to provide static start and end colours with a dynamic gradient (driven by a numeric column or measure value).
This Idea appears to be an incomplete duplicate of

I couldn't have said it better myself. This same question was asked on the ArcGIS forum months ago - no response to date:
And now the preview is out! Read about our various integration points for Python here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-august-2018-feature-summary/#python
We’ll close out the idea once we make the experience generally available in the coming months.
Thanks everyone for your votes. We’ve started to do work this semester to light up this feature. Stay tuned for updates!
Thanks everyone for your feedback/votes!
We’re actively working on this new connector. You can find an early demo in the recording of the Power Query session at the Microsoft Business Applications Summit: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/businessapplicationssummit/video/BAS2018-2167
Please stay tuned to the Power BI blog for further announcements.
While we wait for a Connector solution (which would be great), I'm having some success at this task using the open-source Tabula project.
It has supporting automation/scripting projects (e.g. tabula-py for python), but in almost all cases manual extract design and post-extract data transformation is required. I guess this is due to the imprecise nature of PDF tables.
I wanted to let everyone know that we started planning for this feature! I’ll update the idea again once an engineer has officially started on it.
There's already a technique to achieve this exact functionality via published reports in the web service, so it can't be that hard to implement.
It's clunky and long-winded, but it does seem to achieve the result.
I'd be quite happy for it to gracefully break if the data models didnt match, in the same way visuals gracefully break currently, e.g. when fields they reference are deleted.
Thanks for the renewed interest, everyone! This is certainly something we would like to get to in the future, it’s down to a case of prioritization and working through some implementation details. Keep voting to help move it up our list!
My workaround is to hide another Slicer (the "pre-Slicer") behind the required Slicer. But it's clunky and easy to forget about when messing with Interactions.
I'm struggling to see the difficulty in implementing this - isnt it just: "Make Slicers consistent with the Visual Level Filter functionality of every other visual".
For prioritization, I would've gladly traded this for the Ribbon Chart (several times over!), even if that had a Y Axis ...
