Wanted to post an update to one of the pieces called out for this item – In a future update for the product, we’re planning to do work to introduce support for ADFS/AAD in Power BI Report Server, and at the same time do work to enable your app to override user authentication in a secure way.
Hi everyone. There are some really interesting ideas in this thread, thanks for your vocal support about it! We’ll consider it for the future along with other suggestions and plans. Thanks!
Would be awesome to have a Splunk Direct query connector!
Distributing datasets is possible in the PBI service today via the following steps:
1) As the sharer, go to the gear > “Create Content Pack” > add the dataset you’d like to share – optionally, you may also choose to add additional datasets, report, or dashboards
2) As the recipient, go to Get Data > “My Organization” and select the content pack created in step 1
3) Click on the “…” in the dataset that is added to your workspace, and click “Make a copy”
The recipient can then start creating reports based on the new dataset.
Does this meet your needs? Please let us know via comments or e-mail.
Thanks for the suggestion! We want to add the ability to control whether totals are visible or not in the future.
Checking with Will Thompson and moving status to backlog
We recently announced the ability to schedule PDF attachments for Paginated Reports in Power BI (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/e-mail-subscriptions-for-paginated-reports-is-now-available/).
We’re planning to have this ability for Power BI reports as well, but it will take time to put that feature in place.
For folks asking about the ability to print/export the entire table of data to PDF or other format, we’ll be announcing shortly the ability to publish paginated reports using Power BI datasets, which would allow folks to create simple paginated report tables to use for this scenario, as it’s not currently possible to do this with Power BI reports natively at this time.
This is becoming a key usability topic!
That would be awesome to have this capability. Specifically with the availability of PBI Report Server on premise, this would really Help to extend the capabilities of existing paginated Reports.
Thanks for the feedback! Others, chime in with your votes and comments here.
In general, text warpping sould be available in all visuals for PowerBI, not only in PBI Report Server.
This is supported today in the Power BI service; however, it is not yet supported in Power BI Desktop. We’ll consider this for a future release.
Why not turn it around and allow Excel to read/Import from a PowerBI Desktop file (.pbix)?

This is indeed a key missing feature and hard to understand why Excel can connect to multiple sources likes SSAS and other, but PowerBI cannot. It might become a kind of complex problem under the hood, but in my case it would be sufficient to render the different data sources on different Report pages. May be this is easier to accomplish?
At the Microsoft Business Applications Summit we showed off an early preview of the new decomposition tree visual! It’s in the works and coming soon to Power BI. Check out this blog post for more information: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-new-ai-and-enterprise-features-for-power-bi/
With the new matrix we have some capabilities for breakdwon trees, but this is not that same as decomposition trees. See https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Best-Visual-Contest/Breakdown-Trees/cns-p/7368
