It would be helpful if the Power BI Desktop could detect that a new version is available and auto-upgrade. It's not hard to go get the download, but it would be better if I could set it to auto-upgrade.

The Power BI training and documentation is very helpful. But, it can be overwhelming for beginners. It would be great if there was curated training for:

    1. Beginners
    2. Intermediate
    3. Advance/expert

That I could point my employees to. When I point the beginners to the Power BI documentation and training, they get overwhelmed.

It would help me to know all the feature requests my company for Power BI and the relative number of votes. This helps me in conversations I have with the Power BI team about feature request and their priority to my company.

We have some employees are that very aggressive early adopters that want to test and use all features right away. They can tolerate the lower quality associated with a preview (or beta) features. We have other employees that just want to be on the safest, most stable builds. It would be great to have an easy way to put the people who need stability in one environment, and people who can tolerate change and instability so that they can test the latest and greatest features right away in another.

We need to be abled to turn features off if we have not completed our security or privacy reviews on them. This is required for any feature that has security or privacy implications (data loss potential).

You can currently turn off publishing organizational content packs to the entire organization. We are looking into adding whitelisting and blacklisting of users and groups later. Keep voting if you are interested in this feature!

Thanks for voting on this idea! We are looking into ways to make this experience better.

Now that we can view all the old & existing reports and data models, it's not clear which ones are being used by current dashboards and which ones are not.

So, I now have a mess of old reports and data models. And I don't know which ones I can safely delete w/out affecting my dashboards.

I need a way to see which ones are not being used (reports & data models) so I can clean everything up and delete the old un-used ones.

Yep, I think people will enjoy usage monitoring for individual reports and dashboards as well.

The new Power BI UI is great. However, it's missing a key capability that users expect - drill through

    Hey all!

We’ve continued to make progress here, so I wanted to update this thread with our current capabilities for maintaining security on dashboards/reports.

As always, all of this information can be found in our Row-Level Security (RLS)documentation: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/

    > If you have set up RLS in Analysis Services, Power BI will send the signed-in user’s credentials to Analysis Services, and respect the RLS rules set up on the on-premises model.

    > Separately, you can set up RLS in Power BI for data sources that you import or connect to via DirectQuery. This process starts in PBI Desktop, where you define roles, and write DAX to constrain what data these roles can see. As part of this process, can you use the UserPrincipalName() DAX function to get the current signed in user’s UPN (e.g. joe@contoso.com). Then, once you publish to service, you can assign users to these…

This issue applies to Power BI Preview as well for all data sources that support row level security including:
    - SQL Server DB
    - SQL Azure
    - SSAS MDX

I want this feature on all Saas connectors. I use Dynamics CRM Online, and I want to be able to report off my custom fields in Dynamics CRM.
