I need to add vertical and horizontal lines based on a measure, for example, to create a quadrant, and so it's easy to see the performers, in the top right quadrant. Right now i can display a dot, but its not easy to identify the performers! This is must have when comparing investments against a benchmark, in a standard Risk/Return scatter chart.

At the very least, the DAX, M scripts and ideally the models should be able to be stored in GIT. We have a complex model and complex DAX scripts, and we have a need to share that code within various PBIX files. As of now we do all of this manually, but integration directly into Power BI Desktop would a huge help.

    Yes, definitely need this!

My suggestion is you can press cancel, or the ESC key. When you do, the focus should immediately return to the DAX editor.

This will prevent hours of wasted time in Power BI due to the DAX editor evaluating formulas prematurely (when I haven't finished writing the expression). Or when I make a mistake causing a lengthy evaluation.

Agree. We have a matrix with conditional formatting to depict KPI's with a traffic light system. It'd be ideal if the traffic lights (conditional formats) rolled up the header level.

From the comments and scenarios everyone’s describing, the problem is really that you need a way to allow end-users to change which measure is displayed in a visual on the fly.

As a few folks have mentioned, the FORMAT function might help in the interim, as long as you’re showing the results in text rather than a chart. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/format-function-dax has details on how to use that.

The expression-based formatting feature that we’ve started work on may help to a certain extent, but that’s really designed to change a visual’s properties rather than the data type or format. We’ll look into extending that work to support this scenario as well.

We’re moving this to Backlog status – our core plan is to build ways that end-users can change the dimensions or measures that are visible in a chart on the fly. They’ll be able to explore much more freely rather than…

    Yes please, I need this.
