This is a critical missing feature for grouping. Not being able to decide what is to be done with empty values can mess up an entire report whenever blanks appear, since there is no way to account for the space it will occupy in a visual and consumers can have a hard time figuring out what the blank means (even an "Unspecified" label would be better).
I know blank values can be managed within the data model to prevent the problem, but when working with Direct Query a workaround might be impossible or too complex.
