Thanks for your interest in this connector! With this update of the Power BI Desktop, there is now a preview of the PowerApps Common Data Service connector. You can read more about the preview here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-february-feature-summary/#cds

Once the Common Data Service team expands the number of people with access to the connector to everyone, we will remove the “beta” tag and close the suggestion as completed.

I agree. It would be great if you could hover over say an image of a famous historical figure and hear them speaking. At the moment it's still a bit tricky to engage younger people with this.

We need to be able to create multiple Apps from a single workspace.

My business has just moved over to premium on the basis that you get everything you have with pro licences but you users don't have to be individually named.

I need to clarify that this isn't strictly the case. With PowerBI premium you can now only share via Apps. Any other form of sharing requires a pro licence. The consequence of this is that you have to share EVERYTHING that resides in a workspace.

In the case of our business we have a data model that produces a set of reports some of which we would like to share with one group of users and some that we would like to share with another. You cannot do that. The only way that you can create this behaviour is by creating a separate workspace with a separate instance of the same data model but just create the report you require in this new workspace.

As a corporate user this is a poor experience and many others businesses will be similarly affected. Power BI Team - you need to have this use case on your radar or you'll have some very unhappy customers very soon. I think the 1 to 1 approach is flawed and should be reconsidered.

This may seem like a trivial point however on the report that I've working on for a good number of months it's been a real pain having to sort by a column and go searching for data points (names etc). I've only had to go through an few thousand records but as a designer this has definitely slowed development time. You can get round it by putting row level security on a field, but this results in a very messy set of roles. I'm pretty surprised that this hasn't had more traction since as an ex auditor this would be a very powerful and relatively simple feature to implement. In the world of demos etc we work with datasets that are clean and easy to understand, but in real work applications this is not always the case and this would help the process of hunting down the 'offending' records and updating the model accordingly to accommodate them.

Hi - you just need to create a calculated column using the Switch(True() ,,,,) function
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ykkaAtlCMc FYI I think there is also a number visual filter now

I agree this is very frustrating, it seems like a pretty minor piece of functionality. I also can't get my head around why you need a gateway to access data that exists in the public domain?

Printing of reports/dashboards is a big problem. We know we can export to powerpoint, but this doesn't work for custom visuals. Whilst Power BI should be principally a dashboarding tool many traditional consumers of data, particularly the further up the organisation you go, require reports in their hand. Generally, printed reports formatting is not very professional looking.

Totally agree. As far as the line and clustered column vis is concerned I'm looking at a chart with a dual y axis and the only way of correcting this is to bring the line in to make my budget at the same scale as the actuals. If I could just have a colour that was nondescript (or invisible) this would solve my problem.

Totally agree. It is particularly difficult to select all objects where you have many of them stacked on top of each other and as a result you have to manually select. Not only that, but once you've moved them they become deselected again which is frustrating.

I agree that the fact that custom vis does not go across to powerpoint does present a problem. Typically, you use a custom vis because it meets a user's needs and nothing else will do. These sorts of users typically want to view/print their document in a range of formats.

We would like to be able to link from one report object to another, ideally passing any relevant parameters across between the pages. Given the pages are of a limited size it would increase a user's ability to see the same set of data
