We’re pleased to announce that in the May release of Power BI Desktop you can now define incremental refresh policies for your models.
At present these only apply once the model is published to a Premium workspace in the Power BI service; we’ll be bringing it to all Pro users in the future.
You can read more about it in our blog here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#incrementalRefresh
We’re going to leave this idea open for now, so please give us your feedback while we’re in this preview phase!

I made a VB6 app that used Excel as a calculation engine hidden in the background.
An open Visual Basic library like in the Office suite would mean:
1.You could automate report generation as you would do via manual workflow in SSIS and SSAS for local Excel/tsv/csv files
2. You could also add button features in your reports that could switch between dark/bright themes in your report OR switch graphs with a click! Obviously any VB elements would have to publish to Power BI cloud to be useful!
A great advantage over your competition from Qlik/Tableau.
Phone app dev for IOS and Android has shown as well as power BI visuals; that the community will ALWAYS be able to come up with better ideas than Microsoft or any company might have the time for!
Hi Markus. What would you like to annotate? Where would you like these to be visible? Can you give us details of your scenario please?Daniel Ahr commented
I don't know if this relates to popbups and annotations.
I would like to add an in-built trigger for certain values upon which the user would get animated objects in the dashboard and equivilent static picture in the reports.
Simply put; for gamefying Id like to assign decals and messages to an employee if he/she reaches a certain customer response rate or sales qouta.
Would be like this::
You have reached level Gold standard in this months Sales competition.
//Displays badge animated//
The user would get an annotation alse whereas the collagues would see his/hers name as the winner
