Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.

This is a critical feature for our business users. Many want to export the matrix(pivot) as we built it in power bi via excel or pdf. The only option available in the web is to export to excel and then the matrix format is not even there for them. The assumption that everything will be done within power bi is not reasonable. Users will always want to export what they see and even the Export PDF feature that came out in August is only available in desktop. I also tried the power bi export feature on the web and that too falls short - this feature does not provide the entire graph of the data - only a picture so if your data scrolls down, you only see the first part of the screen.

This needs to work in Direct Query Mode. It should identify slicers and via direct query mode populate the slicers first similar to SSRS does. Then allow user to the slicers and then click on an view report button to execute the stored procedure with the selected slicers (parameters).

The folder concepts needs to be placed in Workspace as well. It is becoming unmanageable to look for reports. As an administrator and publisher of reports. Organization is key in the Workspace.

    Hey all!

We’ve continued to make progress here, so I wanted to update this thread with our current capabilities for maintaining security on dashboards/reports.

As always, all of this information can be found in our Row-Level Security (RLS)documentation: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/

    > If you have set up RLS in Analysis Services, Power BI will send the signed-in user’s credentials to Analysis Services, and respect the RLS rules set up on the on-premises model.

    > Separately, you can set up RLS in Power BI for data sources that you import or connect to via DirectQuery. This process starts in PBI Desktop, where you define roles, and write DAX to constrain what data these roles can see. As part of this process, can you use the UserPrincipalName() DAX function to get the current signed in user’s UPN (e.g. joe@contoso.com). Then, once you publish to service, you can assign users to these…

We really need the ability to connect to an SQL database with AD authentication for a live gateway connection when publishing to the web. PowerBI has this feature on the desktop, it should work on the web as well.
