Wanted to share that one reason we haven't done this is the fact it would make Oracle connections slower...something that users have been very vocal about not wanting.
Not in the short term plans
This is not something the team is working on the short term but With the Custom Connectors SDK, it is also possible for 3rd party ISVs (either the data source owners or someone else) to create connectors against these data sources and expose them in Power BI Desktop.
As an example, somebody has already created a connector for Youtube Analytics using the Custom Connectors SDK: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Power-BI-Custom-Connector-Youtube-Analytics/ba-p/211547
Voted...but this is very easy to do with PowerApps and that custom visual.
It should be possible for someone to build such connector using the Custom Connector SDK (https://github.com/Microsoft/DataConnectors) and the existing Splunk ODBC driver as mentioned in this thread.
For the foreseeable future ODBC will the only solution for Splunk.
The team does have export to PowerPoint on their backlog for this year
moving to the report server category
Quick update, as there are many of you patiently waiting for an update. We’ve started to implement this feature in the service. Look forward to rolling this out to you soon!
While not exactly what you are looking for the api does exist to download the pbix file
Reviewing this right now
I have been in contact with the MSDN team and this is working as expected as the MSDN benefit is limited to Development and Testing NOT production usage. (This stipulated in the MSDN EULA). As their is no way to limit an Office license to Development or Test the MSDN team is requiring a Trial Office Tenant be used.

Will finish the rest soon
The current implementation: All you need to do is make sure they have configured the on-prem source(s) in the OPDG and also provided credentials for the cloud-based sources in the Dataset Refresh Settings page. You should be able to refresh the dataset (as long as you are not mashing up data from these sources)
While we are still working on this I am marking it as completed as Phase 1 for this feature has been released. All you need to do is make sure they have configured the on-prem source(s) in the OPDG and also provided credentials for the cloud-based sources in the Dataset Refresh Settings page. You should be able to refresh the dataset (as long as you are not mashing up data from these sources)
I have asked Dimah to take a look at this suggestion
