Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.

I must have had the same conversation 20+ times with different people in my organisation about this one feature. We have tons of matrices. In the real world, like it or not, users will want to export their data to excel.

We've tried the "Yes but do you REALLY need to export it to excel?" method. It doesn't work. They do.

You cannot explain this to a non-technical person and it make an ounce of sense.

"Yeah I know it looks all whacky, but matricies are different from tables you see. You could always try to create a pivot table in Excel... yeah just ask Clippy he'll help you"

This has been in the backlog for 18 months and is VITAL for us. I know they're not the same but can you, instead of adding things like conditional formatting to borders, work on fundamental issues like this one?

    EIGHTEEN MONTHS....

Please add a "Export as shown" option. It's so incredibly frustrating trying to explain to users why they cannot get the data they see in front of them.

Is this another "how hard can it be" issue?

Our (non technical) users are hugely frustrated that they don't get what they see on screen.

It would also be very nice to be able to choose ONE visual from a report to send as a high quality image rather than the entire report page

Yep same here. We have result and target measures in the rows. We'd like to make the target rows be bold (or another font/colour).

The relative date slicer (a Preview feature as of June ‘17) gets us close to this with the ’This Month’ or ‘This Year’ settings. That is a dynamic date selection that updates based on the current system date. We plan to add a ‘YTD’/‘MTD’ option to specifically select a range from the start of the month/year up to today, hopefully that’ll address the remaining requirements!

Please pay attention to this. I can't understand how Power BI can be developed so rapidly but something so basic can be ignored. Just add every feature you can possibly think of, allow us to turn on/off the features we need and we'll be happy!

    - Select one or more months/years/quarters
    [2017] [2016]
    [Q1] [Q2]
    [AUG] [SEPT]

    - Have the current month, year, or quarter displayed by deafault without having to see "this" "calendar year"

    - Just more options in general. Our users want to explore our data via a range of dates, being able to select "last/this/next 1 day" is all well and good, but why isn't it easy to select all of august 2016 without entering text for example
