To further comment on this. I have the following 2 environments (group workspaces):
Staging: Where business analysts can use PBI Desktop to create measures and columns and publish the dataset to the cloud. Once they are satisfied with the results, they hand over the changes to IT for production deployment.
Production: On IT can publish to this environment. The business still owns the Cloud and business analysts can still create reports and dashboards.
The problem with this is that the business analysts may still publish unapproved datasets to production group workspace by accident. I think it will be beneficial to control what group spaces can or can't a PBI desktop user see before publishing.
moving to back log for the team
Great suggestion, thanks! We could provide this functionality in the Designer app to allow you to create slides when offline.
This is a great suggestion Jeff. We want to support even better Power Point integration by allowing you to embed Power BI visuals directly into Power Point presentations:
Would that solve your challenge, or are there extra requirements that this doesn’t meet?
This is in our backlog. Please vote to receive updates as we make progress.

This must be one of the biggest challenges in the big data realm. There are updates and inserts. While the former is a lot more challenging to achieve, the latter seems to be straightforward. What if, we can set up the type of refresh per table in a dataset?
To put this into a context, I have a table (Marketing_Email with Millions of records) that I know I perform an incremental ETL job using only insert, would it be great if I can tell the gateway, just refresh the Marketing_Email by inserting only using some kind of indicator (Key, Datetime, etc...)?
It would definitely save us hours worth refresh time.
I have several tables with millions of records, publishing updates or something new from my Power BI Desktop takes forever. Why not have the option to publish the template (Metadata/Schema/Relationship) to the cloud and set the auto refresh to upload the data for me while I am away?

I built a dataset that is comprised of factual data such as Marketing, Financials and transactional, etc... They all share the same common dimension such as Accounts, its Contracts, its Organizations and its Customers.
The sales department wants to see all in the same dataset.
The accounting department would like see financials and transactional only.
Given that each department would like to take ownership of their own dataset, we will need to create two different datasets with common data dimension.
So far so good, except when it comes to refreshing the data because we need to set up two different refresh cycles and pretty much update the same data twice.
Why not update the data once because they belong to the same underlying database?
