I have many pbix files about 50 where I manually filter out the data using a text value. If I can have that value in the pbix file name I can get the file path and then parse it and pass it to the filter in power query. Something like var = thispbix. path

I just came back from a status meeting and am feeling very frustrated . Our users simply are refusing to accept the fact that you can only print what you can see. Please fix this. Why is this so hard to do ?

    Hi,
we are working on supporting MS Access as data source that can be refreshed from.

You can today connect to Access from Power Query or the Power BI Designer and build reports, dashboards on it. Soon we’ll also release the capability to refresh these reports from within Power BI.

Exporting from Matrix table to excel gives us just the flat table and we lose subtotals etc. It will save so much time for us if it exports in the same format as Matrix with subtotals etc. We now have to create another pivot table in excel to mimic the matrix visual . Our Senior executives cannot do this and it is frustrating because we have to recreate in excel and send it to them by email .Please fix this. Many Thanks !

Please add this option. Our users are all Senior executives who want to print in excel and take the pages to meetings. It should be just like printing pivot tables in Excel .

Users should not have to redo the pivots. Please add the functionality

Please make this possible. We need to use a single report and share with others outside the organization with different security similar to what we have for dashboards.

    thanks

    Hey all!

We’ve continued to make progress here, so I wanted to update this thread with our current capabilities for maintaining security on dashboards/reports.

As always, all of this information can be found in our Row-Level Security (RLS)documentation: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/

    > If you have set up RLS in Analysis Services, Power BI will send the signed-in user’s credentials to Analysis Services, and respect the RLS rules set up on the on-premises model.

    > Separately, you can set up RLS in Power BI for data sources that you import or connect to via DirectQuery. This process starts in PBI Desktop, where you define roles, and write DAX to constrain what data these roles can see. As part of this process, can you use the UserPrincipalName() DAX function to get the current signed in user’s UPN (e.g. joe@contoso.com). Then, once you publish to service, you can assign users to these…

I just quickly tested the row-level security and it works great. I will do more testing and provide our feedback. Thank you so much Power BI team !!.

We currently have a large number of leaders and they work on different clients and we need to control what clients they can see. Glad to see that this have been started . Many thanks Power BI team !

We have a similar situation mentioned by Quiten. We need to create a standard dashboard for 50 leaders and they should only be able to see the data only for their individual teams. Thanks Power BI team
