1 trick...Pin a live report page to your dashboard this will drive the dashboard to automatically refresh.
But If you tiles still don't refresh its probably because you have 'hard selected' filters on them. Trick create a measure that dynamically updates with no need to select hard filters then these will also update.
Thanks for the suggestion, Kevin! Who else is interested in using MongoDB/ElasticSearch? Please add your votes!
Hi Will is there any progress on the Power BI native MongoDB connector ?
I see the current solution is by ODBC drivers even saw R been used.
What are others currently using ? and what is the advised best practice ?
Avi, great idea and i am sure PBI pros would benefit from this. I mean we have 'DAX studio' to extract the measures and the 'biaccountant' has some great documentation techniques using sankey visuals see http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-do-you-document-your-models/td-p/23828
yes just what i need as well. Like export to Visio or the likes of Lucidchart.
As well as voting here can anyone share their current fixes for connecting to SAS. (not SSAS)
Thank you all for the feedback since our last update. We’re working on building a new navigation experience to allow authors to customize a folder-like structure for all the contents within Power BI Apps. Stay tuned!
With more dashboards been shared across our organisation that area on the left is really busy.
Move the reports & datasets section to another tab (or at least combine their menu options).
For dashboards folders would be good.....infact why not have a Power BI dashboard to mange our dashboards ( a tile for each dashboard or even hieararchy of dashboards) a bit like a visual folder with top level hierarchy of dashboards.
Checking w/ the team where this is at.
The ability to access our existing Power Query (PQ) queries which we built in Excel and uploaded to our Data Catalog Query or even our recent data sources in Excel to make them also accessible in Power BI desktop (PBI) and preferably synced across MS Power BI applications.(at least between excel & PBI).
Importing the excel file is great 1st time round but it is not the solution as any future PQ amendments in the source excel file cannot currently be "updated" in the PBI file.
A new import of the updated excel file with amended queries generates a new .pbix and loses all previous development of datamodel & reports.
The Power Query data source “Data Catalog” is a great function for also sharing queries across the organisation and thus a Power BI developer team. Even some source control of queries would be helpful.
If you too think this feature would help Power BI then please click the VOTE button on the left now. Thanks together we can “Have the Power BI”.
With the release of ssrs 2016 the MS BI roadmap (see link below) will satisfy this request, creating an end 2 end BI self service platform for cloud & on-premises environments. Great.
We will think about enabling this. Won’t “embedding” in a public site via iframe be sufficient?
Embedding dashboards in website would be cool. I need this for clients to view their data when they log into our portal.
Any progess with the DQSM as whenever i try to enhance the datamodel we are asked to use 'upoad' mode and not DC.
